Exciting New Features We Love on the Newly-Redesigned 2025 Nissan Kicks

A green 2025 Nissan Kicks is shown driving to one of the most popular Nissan dealers near you.

Every once in a while, you'll hear about an all-new model. Usually, it's a model you've heard of before, so folks often wonder what's so new about it. If you've googled "Nissan dealers near me" recently, you've probably seen a lot of hype about the all-new 2025 Nissan Kicks. You have probably also heard about the Nissan Kicks for a while now (since 2018, to be exact!). So what does "all-new" mean?

Car manufacturers usually use the term "all-new" when describing a newly released generation of a car. The first generation Kicks replaced the Nissan Juke in 2018. The 2025 model begins the second generation of the five-passenger subcompact SUV. From a refreshed design based on sneaker culture to updated technology and re-tuned engineering, the 2025 Kicks is still recognizable but all-new. Check out some of our favorite second-generation features.

Performance and Capability

While the 2025 Nissan Kicks has received a full exterior makeover that gives it a sleeker, more aggressive, and undeniably athletic appearance, we feel that one of the most important things about a car is how it drives. The 2025 Kicks is offered in three trims: S, SV, and SR. All models are equipped with a 2.0L inline-4 engine that provides a very comfortable and capable 141 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a newly-re-tuned Xtronic transmission, this powertrain has the ability to provide the right amount of power exactly when it's most needed.

Each Kicks grade is also eligible for optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Nissan's super-tuned system has the ability to gauge traction needs on a variety of slick or uncertain road conditions. New for 2025, drivers who select all-wheel drive models will have an additional Snow Mode, which joins Normal, Eco, and Sport. The new Snow Mode adjusts steering, acceleration, and specifically designed brake control to add stability when making turns when the roads get slick. Furthermore, with its 8.4-inch ground clearance, the Kicks makes navigating everyday obstacles and surprise detours a piece of cake.

A Calm, Comfortable Interior

Nissan describes the interior of the 2025 Kicks as "cocoon-like," and we enthusiastically agree. While it seems strange to call a car's interior "peaceful," it has a truly cozy feel despite being roomier than ever. For the new generation, Nissan has expanded the front shoulder room by 1.7 inches. The rear seat has been reconfigured to provide passengers with an extra 0.9 inches of knee space and 1.5 inches of shoulder room. As a result, the new Kicks is instantly road trip-ready.

Extra passenger room doesn't always translate into additional cargo room, but in this case, it does. With all seats occupied, you'll have 30 cu.ft. of cargo space. For those who don't need the rear seats, they stow to provide up to 60 cu.ft. of cargo space. Nissan also makes it easier to organize cargo with an available hidden under-trunk compartment, and a larger, lower cargo hatch opening.

Another highlight is Nissan's Zero Gravity seating. Specifically designed to provide support to key pressure points in the legs and back, the 2025 Kicks will feature this unique enhancement in the front and rear seats. Our other favorite interior feature?  The cup holders. The 2025 Kicks has cup holders that can actually handle big drinks, including two center console cup holders designed to accommodate a 30-ounce coffee tumbler. It's not often that we encounter a car that makes us instantly want to take a road trip, but the Kicks has been carefully designed to keep each passenger as comfortable as possible regardless of how many miles you plan to travel.

Three Trims to Choose From, Each Offering Tons of Tech

While many SUVs are gradually converting to a mono-screen setup, the 2025 Nissan Kicks has a dual-screen setup that places gauges and instruments on one screen and infotainment on the other. The screen size is a consolidated seven inches on the S trim but 12.3 inches on the SR and SV models. The larger screen includes two display modes depending on how much information you need to access during your drive.

All Nissan Kicks include Bluetooth connectivity, but those equipped with the larger touchscreen system include satellite radio, smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless charging pad. The top SR trim includes a 6-speaker audio system, but drivers who like to immerse themselves in their tunes can select an optional 10-speaker system.

Nissan's Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance technology is standard in every 2025 Kicks. This includes standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Automatic Braking. Additional driver assistance technology is offered in the SR trim, including an upgraded Intelligent Around View Monitor. This technology provides 360-degree monitoring of the Kicks' immediate proximity. Moving Object Detection senses any pedestrians, vehicles, or other moving obstacles that might be heading directly toward your car.

The SR trim also gains Nissan's ProPILOT Assist, with added Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Intervention, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intersection Assist. Drivers of the SV and SR trims can also select models equipped with the Premium Package. Contents of this package vary based on trim and whether front-wheel or all-wheel drive is selected, but highlights include a panoramic moonroof, roof rails, Remote Engine Start, and heated front seats.

For those who appreciate straightforward choices and features that make sense for your drive style, the 2025 Kicks manages to land in a sweet spot for many drivers: just enough tech to make the right more comfortable and convenient than before, but not too much tech, or an array of features you may not use. Nissan allows all drivers the freedom to find a spot that's just right for them.
